Hello! My name is Lauren Murphy; students call me Mrs. Murphy or Miss Lauren. I live and teach clarinet and bass clarinet in East Roswell out of my studio office. My students range in age and abilities from beginners through preparing for college auditions! For ten years, I’ve loved to watch students grow as musicians and as people. As one of my students, you’ll be connected to local clarinet events such as Clarinet Day, extra performance opportunities, and extracurricular wind ensembles in the Atlanta area. In the fall, my students prepare for and regularly achieve placement in District Honor Band, All State Band, and even the prestigious Governor’s Honors Program. Each summer, I coordinate a Clarinet Camp out of my home; my students connect with one another and play in a clarinet choir together. Particularly driven students audition for the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra in the Spring or one of the many other local ensembles. You may also say hello to my husband and daughter, my dog, Scout, or my backyard chicken flock before or after your lesson!

When I’m not teaching lessons at home or teaching sectionals at Centennial High School, you can find me leading nature programs and canoe trips at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, working in the RUMC Giving Garden, or working in my backyard.
